Esra Oskay received her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Bilkent University in 2005, her Master’s degree in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University in 2007 and her PhD in Drawing and Painting from the University of Edinburgh in 2014. Since 2015, she has been working as an artist and academic in Ankara. Oskay was awarded theborder_less Book fund in 2020, the Rotary Art fund in 2021. She was a researcher in the IKSV Istanbul Biennial Study and Research program in 2019, an artist-researcher at the Basis voor Actuele Kunst Situated Practices Fellowship program in 2023, a fellow at Transcultural Academy Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden in 2024 .
